Back up first, if the device still lets you

Testing is the part nobody sees
A repair isn't finished when the last screw goes back in. A console with fresh thermal paste needs running under load until it's warmed right through, because cooling faults only appear hot. Faults that come back a week later are usually faults that were never properly tested.
