Dead or Alive Technology

Our Story

The Journey Behind Dead or Alive Technology

Dead or Alive Technology was founded to provide something often missing in the technology repair industry: honest diagnostics, skilled workmanship, and advice people can genuinely trust.

Based in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, we are an independent, locally owned technology repair and IT support business serving customers across the Central Belt of Scotland and nationwide through our Repair-By-Post service.

From the beginning, our goal has been clear — fix technology properly, explain issues clearly, and never recommend work that isn’t necessary.

How It Started

Dead or Alive Technology was established in response to a growing frustration many customers experience when seeking tech repairs: rushed assessments, unclear explanations, inflated pricing, and repairs that don’t last.

We set out to do things differently.

By focusing on accurate fault diagnosis, real-world repair experience, and transparent communication, we built a service designed around long-term reliability rather than quick fixes. Every repair is approached methodically, with the same care and attention we would expect for our own equipment.

Built on Real-World Experience

Technology repair isn’t theoretical, it’s practical, hands-on work. Every day, we diagnose and repair real faults affecting real users, from common failures to complex, specialist-level issues.

This day-to-day experience allows us to:

  • Identify faults accurately
  • Avoid unnecessary part replacements
  • Prevent repeat failures
  • Provide realistic repair outcomes

We do not rely on generic checklists or guesswork. Repairs are carried out in-house using professional tools and proven methods.

Developing Specialist Expertise

Over time, Dead or Alive Technology has become known locally for undertaking advanced repairs that many standard repair shops will not attempt.

This includes:

  • Precision and board-level repair work
  • Detailed fault tracing and diagnostics
  • Preventative servicing and reliability optimisation
  • Specialist component replacement and restoration

Our expertise is built through continual hands-on repair work, specialist equipment, and staying current with evolving hardware and software technologies.

Earning Trust Through Transparency

Trust is not claimed, it is earned.

We believe customers should always understand:

  • What has failed
  • Why it failed
  • What the repair involves
  • Whether the repair is worthwhile

If a repair is not cost-effective or viable, we will say so clearly. We do not upsell, pressure, or obscure technical details behind jargon. Our advice is straightforward, honest, and practical.

Supporting the Local Community

As a local business, we value long-term relationships with our customers and the wider community. Many of our customers return to us repeatedly because they know they will receive consistent service, clear explanations, and dependable repairs.

Alongside consumer repairs, we support local small businesses with practical IT assistance, helping them stay productive, secure, and connected without unnecessary complexity.

Expanding Nationwide

While our roots are firmly local, our expertise is not limited by geography. Through our Repair-By-Post service, customers across the UK can access the same professional diagnostics, careful handling, and transparent repair process as local walk-in customers.

Every postal repair is handled with the same level of care, documentation, and communication.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Dead or Alive Technology continues to operate with the same principles it was founded on:

  • Experience gained through real repairs, every day
  • Expertise developed through specialist work and continual learning
  • Authority built through consistency and reputation
  • Trust earned through honesty, clarity, and accountability

We are proud of the reputation we have built and remain committed to delivering repairs and support that customers can rely on.
